Founded in 1977, the Massachusetts Environmental Education Society (MEES) is dedicated to the promotion, preservation and improvement of environmental education in the state of Massachusetts. MEES is a non-profit organization whose members include classroom teachers, environmental educators, outdoor leaders, naturalists and administrators committed to encouraging education and awareness of the inter-relationship of the natural world, and re-establishing the balance between nature and people.

The theme of the 2013 conference will be: Strengthening Communities: Branching Out, Reaching In

The annual spring conference is what many people identify with MEES. Each year for three decades, environmental educators from Massachusetts and beyond have gathered to share their ideas, stories, and resources. The theme differs from year to year, and the Board finds fresh, new content to fill its sessions. With help from its membership, MEES will continue to provide rich professional development for the environmental education community.

Workshops will share ideas for revitializing our education practice and the systems used to promote environmental education.
